George Ajaj states: "The main reason I wrote this story was to express to children that they should never give up on their wishes and dreams, and to relish the journey of aspiring to achieve them.  Furthermore, as a parent myself, I know that there is nothing more gratifying than to see your child show responsibility, kindness, and demonstrate moral values.  The Adventures of Reece & Rusty embraces this theme along with common life experiences/events intertwined with magical and humoristic overtones.  Volume 2- Bedazzled By Willoughby, the second story in their adventure is near completion."

In fact, the best ideas for stories seem to come when his son shares his thoughts about the world around him over breakfast each morning. Toddlers seem to have a canny knack of reaching top gear all the while everyone else is still struggling to make sure their slippers are on the right feet.

Kenny Dowling is a new Childrens Book Author based in Surrey, United Kingdom.  His first book Loulabub Zoolabub was actually written back in 2012 after he finished working at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.  The story was inspired by a trip to London Zoo with his then 16 month old niece. “I have always been quite creative and love to write, so I put some time into creating the story” Kenny said.
“My wife is a teacher so I asked her for some advice on the characteristics that make up a good childrens book, and set about writting Loulabub Zoolabub”.  After the book was complete Kenny found that childrens books are amongst the most difficult to get published, and after trying many avenues shelved the project for a couple of  years before picking it back up in 2014, deciding to take the self publishing route. The book was finally released in 2015.  Kenny said “The entire process has been very exciting and the team at Spiderwize has been fantastic. I hope the success of this book will lead to a collection of books based on Loulabubs explorations.”

Christopher Hayward : I left school at 15 and took a joinery apprenticeship and eventually worked for myself for 35 years before retiring. On retirement I took up painting as a hobby and still paint and sell a few today. In late 2021 while watching football ( soccer) on the tv there was a player called Dominic Solanke but it sounded like the commentator said Sir Lanky , which got me thinking about knights of old and Sir Lancelot so I changed it to Sir Lankylot and made up a rhyme. Sir Lankylot was a knight of old But he wasn’t brave And he wasn’t bold. After that I worked on it a bit more and the next day completed my poem. I read it to a few people who all said it would make a great children’s story and it needed publishing. In order to publish it I needed illustrations and asked a friend Kelly Barker Evans if she wanted to have a go. After many many hours spent on them the story was ready to be printed , and in the summer of 2022 we published it on Amazon. Since then I have written lots more stories, some about Sir Lankylot and some about his squire called Jim, along with some different ones such as a caveman, and also one about a mischievous schoolboy, which hopefully we will be able to publish eventually. I was 68 when I wrote Sir Lankylot and have surprised myself since with my writing so it goes to show you are never too old to try new things.

Travis Jensen: Team Harvest came about the way most great things do: part chance, a lot of hard work, with a dash of good luck. Having a love for that spookiest time of year at the end of October, the Team quickly assembled once an idea was presented.  Travis and Jed have known each other since their days in high school and just happened to end up working together at the University of Nevada, Reno. John hired on to fill an emergency vacancy and in doing so made his office into a museum of spooky illustrations he had previously created.  It was not long for the three of them to realize they shared the same passion for ghosts, pumpkins and bumps in the night. What began as a simple idea of a pumpkin head has blossomed into a magical world filled with all things harvest.  Harvest Jack became a pencil sketch, then a poem, followed by a book.   Very simple until those ideas took root and exploded into many more characters and a place we call Patchville.

Kerry McQuaide. I grew up with parents and sisters who believed snuggling and laughing were a part of reading picture books. That probably explains my love and enthusiasm for writing and illustrating stories for kids!  Stories are fun, but it’s more than that…each book a child reads is a doorway into understanding more about herself and more about the world she lives in. I want to create those doorways—to laughter, to learning, to imagined worlds, and most importantly… to connecting with each other. To connect with me and see stories and drawings in progress, plus receive free books and activities visit my website.

Michael J Rady: I am a chef by trade and a children’s book author by passion. I currently live in North Aurora Illinois. I am a father of two, whose time and experience as a stay-at-home parent was the catalyst for my books. It was the joy I saw in my children’s eyes as I read to them the rhymes of authors such as Dr. Suess, which sparked my love for turning a phrase into verse. I have several other manuscripts, two of which I am working with an illustrator on, and another which is completed and currently published on KDP. I am looking for help marketing the one I have published and am willing to do whatever it takes to get it exposure! I also have a Middle-school Novel that I am currently editing and looking for a home. I hope that my portfolio of work will be something worth supporting and promoting. I studied at The Institute of Children’s Literature.

Sandi White: Born in Buffalo, NY, I am the younger of two children. My family moved to Florida when I was 4, which is where I spent the rest of my childhood. After graduating from high school, I earned an Associate of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College. I also took art classes at Mission College in San Jose, California, and attended Grand Valley State University for a year, studying to be a physical therapist. After my daughter was born in 1994, I quit school and started my own transcription company, which allowed me to be a stay-at-home mom while still making a living.

I’ve always enjoyed making rhymes for things, whether it’s just making up silly lyrics to a favorite song on the radio, or making up phrases that just fit the moment. When my children were young, I didn’t want to do the typical plastic egg hunt for them, which ended with a basket full of sugar-laden candy. So I started doing a “treasure hunt” of sorts, where the kids would have to decipher rhyming clues to find the next egg. A trail of clues led them to the “prize” at the end, anything from a large stuffed animal or a toy of some kind. I finally put a set of those rhymes to good use and wrote my first children’s book, The Egg Hunt.

Living in the woods in West Michigan, I got to see a lot of wildlife right in my backyard, so I wrote my second book, Treasures In The Woods, which includes beautiful photographs along with fun rhymes that teach kids about nature. I am planning to do a series of “Treasures” books about different locations.
